Kabrhel Family at Lone Tree Hill Volunteer Day, 2015 / Radha Iyengar

Join us in stewarding Lone Tree Hill! The Belmont Citizens Forum, in conjunction with the Judy Record Conservation Fund, is holding its ninth annual cleanup and trail maintenance day on April 22, from 9 AM until noon.

The Volunteer Day activities will include (i) planting white pine saplings along the Pine Allee, (ii) planting of “mother colonies” of native plants to reintroduce diversity in an area first cleared of glossy buckthorn in 2020,  (iii) picking up trash at the South Pleasant Street/Coal Road and (iv) removing invasive plants at the South Pleasant Street/Coal Road area

For the plantings, volunteers should meet at the Lone Tree Hill Mill Street parking lot, and you will be directed to the site for planting the native plants or the white pines along the Pine Allee. It would be helpful if the volunteers could bring gloves, trowels, and spades for the plantings.
For the trash removal and removing invasive plants, volunteers should meet on Pleasant Street at the bottom of Coal Road.

Bounded by Concord Avenue, Pleasant Street, and Mill Street, Lone Tree Hill spans 119 acres of permanently protected conservation land and is available to everyone. It is stewarded through a public/private partnership by the town and McLean Hospital and administered by the Land Management Committee for Lone Tree Hill.
